This unit will cover tasks 7-11 of the 11 tasks in the TOEIC Speaking Test.
Questions 7–9:
Respond to questions using the information provided
Directions: In this part of the test, you will answer three questions based on the information provided. You will have 45 seconds to read the information before the questions begin.
For each question, begin responding immediately after you hear a beep.
No additional preparation time is provided.
You will have 15 seconds to respond to Questions 7 and 8, and 30 seconds to respond to Question 9.

Question 9: I’ve just started a small business in my town. Are there any sessions that would be especially helpful for people like me?

Directions: In this part of the test, you will be presented with a problem and asked to propose a solution.
Preparation time: 30 seconds
Response time: 60 seconds
Respond as if you work as an apartment manager.

(Narrator):
Hi, this is Charlie Hamilton. I’m a tenant living on the seventh floor of this building. I moved here four months ago and I enjoy living here because of my good neighbors. However, I have a problem and I’m calling because you are the apartment manager. This summer is very hot, so I open my windows a lot. The problem is that the wind blows a funny smell into my room. I didn’t want to complain, but the smell has continued for a whole week. As an apartment manager, please let me know what you can do about this situation. I would appreciate a return call. Thank you.
